Flash: Cao claims Women's 75kg Weightlifting gold
(BEIJING, August 15) -- China's Cao Lei combined a lift of 128 kilograms in the Snatch with 154 kilograms in the Clean and Jerk for a winning total of 282kg in the Women's 75kg Weightlifting category on Friday, August 15. She broke the Olympic record weights in the Snatch, Clean and Jerk and total weight.
Alla Vazhenina of Kazakhstan claimed silver by lifting 119kg in the Snatch and 147kg in the Clean and Jerk to reach a total of 266kg.
Bronze went to Russia's Nadezda Evstyukhina, who hoisted 264kg in total, including 117kg in the Snatch and 147 in Clean and Jerk.
